I've had that twice now, once recently and once long ago. I immediately shut down and did a cold start 15 minutes later. If you have Norton or similar do a complete scan.

I will check with the other moderators but this is the first that I am hearing about this problem.

Had one last week that claimed to be from Microsoft. It had an 800 number, and a siren sound that wouldn't turn off, or let me "X" out of the browser. They call it Ransomware, and it can look really official.

Hit ALT CONTROL DELETE buttons at the same time. This will open a window with several choices, Choose "Start Task Manager", then close browser from this window. This should let you out of the browser without damage.

Now reboot, and if need-be ALT CONTROL DELET again, Then run good antivirus software to scan your system.

Under no circumstances should you call the phone number. It will only validate to the crooks who you are, and leave you open to all sorts of scams. If you need assistance, take your computer to a local shop.

Good Luck!
