Springdale Awning Problem

I just bought a new Keystone Springdale 252RL. The very first time I opened the awning, once I got it home, I heard a popping sound. After that, the awning wouldn't completely close. Upon inspection, the top arm was seen to be bent. The dealer sent my walk-through tech out to my place three days later. He installed a brand new arm assembly unit, with my help. The problem, as we found, was that the top cap of the extender unit was catching the arm and that made it bend. I think the configuration of the awning placement is poor: When you extend/retract it you need to be in the unit pressing the rocker switch. You can only view the front arm through the gap in the hinge side of the door. Terrible! Now, each time I open the awning, I take it very slow and watch everything, carefully. All and all, though, the warranty repair gets an "A" from me.
