Well, the Newness is Gone......

So we bought our Impact Fuzion 303 new, about a 1 1/2 year ago. The entire first year was spent "camping" at motorcycle racetracks where my wife and I were working as Instructors. So last fall, in October, we went camping to a real campground and had a blast. This past weekend, we had reservations at a campground in Townsend, TN (Big Meadow Family Campground) and I have to say.....strictly first class and a beautiful and well maintained campground. Our plans were to arrive Friday early afternoon, then Saturday morning get up early and take our bicycles to Cades Cove and ride the loop because on Wednesdays and Saturdays that loop road is closed to motorized traffic so the bikers can ride (or runners/hikers) can have the road to themselves. All went well with that, and even us "old folks" was able to make the entire 11 mile loop pedalling a bicycle around it! So we get back to the campground and take showers then head into Townsend to do a bit of sight-seeing, visiting a winery, and pick up a few things at the grocery store that we forgot. So upon returning back to the campground, I pull my truck into the parking area behind the T.H. and I look, and someone has hit the very back rear of the trailer and dented in the skirting and bent a support channel! Really? I have no idea who, or when, or how.....and the part that just really pisses me off, NO NOTE, no nothing.....just hit it and took off. The damage is pretty minimal and I can probably straighten things out and make it look mostly OK, but REALLY......you hit someone else's property and just drive away from it? In the scheme of things, I realize that it's not a "big deal", but it's the idea that someone would do that and not even tell or leave a note. I certainly wasn't brought up like that, and I have to admit....I'm kind of feeling like that I hope that "Karma" catches up with them and they remember their act of indecency!

Hit/run is getting to be common place. Glad the damage wasn’t serious, don’t dwell on it, finish enjoying your trip and drive home with the thought that their rig took the brunt of the damage. I’m with you, if you can’t at least leave a note you shouldn’t be driving.

Does it look like the kind of damage that could have been caused by a kid on a bike? That might explain the lack of a note.

I guess anything is possible, but the "U" channel that was/is bent, in my way of thinking, would take more force than a bicycle could do. I'll work on it next weekend and see if I can get things straightened out and mostly back to "normal".

There will always be the "first scratch" on a new car...
I don't mind so much if it's my own stupid fault... Well, I DO mind, but not nearly as much as if someone else does it through stupidity/carelessness. But when they do that and are to timid or arrogant to leave a note! GRRRRRRR!!!

My wife brought home our new(ish) CX5 with a parking lot scrape. She was afraid to show me, but it wasn't her fault. It happened while she was in shopping.

I feel your pain.

Thanks.....I'm sure I'll get over it, but I will always struggle with how inconsiderate some people are. Oh well, it felt a little better to be able to vent a little!

Vernon, I'm with you. Things like that just drive me crazy, but, as I see more and more each day, the times have certainly changed. I feel for you and it is certainly unfortunate. I hope it's something you can fix easily...….and, Karma is her normal self and is a b...… to whoever did it to you

Happens during fishing season at boat ramp lots, guy comes back and finds his trailer got wacked. Even happened to my trailer and no note. Happened to a co worker a few months ago at a 4 wheeler/motorcycle parking lot. He comes back from a day of off roading. This time it was his trucks right front fender, cost 1200. Better than getting the vehicles broken into but, not by much.
