I think that the numbers used to be fairly close to the length of the trailer, but there seems to be a good deal of wiggle room nowadays.

For example, we have a Cougar 25RLSWE. From nose to tail, we measure just about 30 feet, but that includes the hitch. The Rear Living Slide WEstern model is where the letters come from.

Some of the letters have obvious meaning, some are more obtuse and some are just plain letters, it seems...

look here http://rv52.com/little-things-ive-le...out-rv-naming/

or other hits from a google search of rv name decode

Long ago some of the numbers were "somewhat" representative of the Interior length. Today it seems they like to make those numbers quite a bit smaller than the actual length, my guess has been to make the customer think it is smaller than it is and can be pulled by something smaller than it should be.

Letters can get very creative, but a lot of them make sense when you think about them. I don't know what your floorplan is but could LHS stand for Left Hand Slide? Just a wild stab.

Codes

Good luck on your code search. My Son-in-law works for NSA and their cypher code breakers have been working on decoding my "303TG" for 4 years now. To date, my "Little Orphan Annie secret decoder ring" has come up blank.

My best guesses were:

A: 303 payments TO GO
B: 303 beers TO GO(based on the capacity of the 2 fridges)
C:303[/COLOR] miles until the TIRES GO flat.

IMHO I think it may be 303 = Sq. FT with slides out and TG is for "tailgating" to represent the outdoor kitchen and bumper gas grill but I can find no one that can confirm nor deny this.

UPDATE ----- I have heard a rumor that 2 guys in a small dark room with a Oujia board are naming the new models at Keystone. Someone onced asked the famous Carol Shelby what the 350 signified in his creation, the Mustang GT 350. He said that his team was in his office contemplating a name when he asked one of his team how far was it from his office to the shop. One guy said around 350 feet and the name was decided.

Still trying to figure out "SRX".

S: Special
R: Rear
X: Whatever you put in the garage or eXtension.

I had forgot about this..... I think some model #s do relate to the floor sqft. It's funny though because @ 8 feet wide with some slides out it becomes very close to a factor of 10 with the length. For example - model 280xxx could be 28 feet long but also may be 280 sqft with the slides out.

Another interesting Carroll Shelby tidbit. As we know he was a big part of the famous GT40 Lemans cars from the 60s.
The 40 in the name comes from the height of the car in inches from the ground. I know this for a fact as I met him on several occasions and asked that specific question.
As Paul Harvey used to say "now you know the rest of the story".

Our 3535RE, has "Rear Entertainment".... but is a 4 slide with 39ft, go figure? The 3536RE is the identical unit with a residential 110v 'fridge'. (Both discontinued, even though it was a great layout... OH WELL!)

Maybe you have the LHS(F) "Let's have some fun edition!!! LOL

Whatever it is, I'm sure someone will have the right answer, in the meantime... enjoy the trip! What does Keystone say?

Good Luck,

It appears that the "LHS" is the series ... Luxury Hideout Series ...

or is it "Brand" ??? Shows up that way on one page in the below links, alongside Fusion, Laredo, Montana, et al.

Or is it Lightweight Hideout Series? Also shows up in the Light Weight search category ....

As many have said - numbers are very loosely tied to length most of the time (sometimes they aren't even close). Letters often represent some floor plan characteristic (but again not always).

The common ones are things like:

RLS = rear living room slide
BHS = bunk house
FL = front living room

My Hideout is a BHDS which is a bunk house double slide

Once you learn the letters a bit it can be useful at RV shows as you walk around looking for a certain floor plan. Other than that I have never found much use for it. I suppose when picking out a spot while driving around a campground you could avoid anything "BH" if you don't want to be around my screaming kids
