Back-up camera

I purchased a 2015 Montana 3710, it came with a back-up camera but I don't know how it is wired for power. I've tried having the running lights on which does not work. Any ideas before I start taking things apart to trouble shoot.
It is model; Furrion frc 12ta-bl.

Does this unit work well from the ones who have it? or should I upgrade to a full time camera rather than a back-up camera.

Any help would be appreciated

Not 100% sure but I think it's connected to the backup circuit on the truck. Has to be in reverse to operate.

Most people don't hook the reverse wire up to 7 prong plug on truck, I did but never used it.
If so just run a wire from trucks reverse light to spot on 7 prong plug.

If it is wired to the backup circuit, look into rewiring it to the running lights. That way you can turn it on and use it as an observation camera.

Also, if you find that the signal is intermittent and weak, contact Furrion about exchanging it for a FOS-48. The range is better on the newer camera.

I would suggest doing a search on this forum (backup camera, camera, etc) , this is a popular question. I assume you know that many if not all wireless systems you need to sync the monitor with the camera. Without having a lot of information of your configuration, here is some info. If you can see an antenna on your camera, power is probably obtained from a light in the area, like running light. If you can not see an antenna then the transmitter/antenna is not part of the camera. Others have found the transmitter located say in a closet in the front section of the rig. I think in that case power is supplied there and is on all the time. Again suggest you do a search to find all the previous posts

EDIT: Just did a search on backup camera, many post on different issue. You know more about what type you have than I . Good Luck
