Texas weekends

We are not retired, so weekend RV trips only for us... for now.

Buckhorn resort near Kerrville, Lazy L&L in New Braunfels area, and Greenlake resort in San Antonio have been our favorites so far.

Is it Friday yet?

You're close enough you might want to try Blanco State Park in Blanco. We try to stay during the week or off season because it can get a little "busy" on weekends during the summer. It's close enough you might be able to use it at some point.

You have some on your list already that we hope to try! We don’t have a generator yet so have only done spots with 50 amp and water. Hope to make it to Big Bend. I hear it’s beautiful!!

Blanco state park ... that is pretty close! I think I heard it’s tough to get an RV reservation... because they book quickly.

I know we were able to spend a weekend at Canyon late with our previous camper. It was “first come first serve” so the trick was to go with trailer and get a spot on Thursday rather than waiting until Friday.

Welcome from a fellow San Antonian! Any number of small towns throughout South Texas on the weekends are great! Always something to do or see and they are close enough to visit in a (way too short) weekend. Congrats, and see you on the road! Heading to Bandera (Cowboy Capital of Texas) in a couple of weeks.

We love Bandera Too! We take grandkids to the water park at the Flying L resort there! Do you stay in an RV park that you like or boondock? We have not taken the RV to Bandera yet, but am sure we will!
