Hi people,
This is not an RV question but I have frequented many of the threads on this forum over the years, and couldn't think of a better place to ask this question!
So like the title says, i'm wondering if a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a V6 engine would tow my utility trailer that is 1500lb (and want to tow up to 5000lb gross).
I am looking for a new car that can do what I said. I had a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder and 2006 Ford Explorer that could tow it fine before. I like the Jeep, but i'm wondering if i'd have problems because google says 3500 is the tow capacity (though for my explorer it said ~3000lb, and after an aftermarket hitch it towed 5000lb fine)
How exactly do you guys calculate tow capacities? Do manufacturers sometimes put lower than it can do in reality?
Thank you all for your time! I am sorry if I missed some ultimate tow calculation guide, I didn't see one
