Upgraded to a HDT

Got tired of being at 100% capacity with my 2008 RAM 3500 DRW, 6spd, w/3:73's!

Can you say " pull thru sites only"? Seriously, if you plan on camping in the camp grounds in the NE I would suggest Google satellite images before booking. It's my experience the just driving thru the cg can be a challenge with a long wheelbase truck and trailer. Some of the cg in central and western PA can be challenging the last few miles getting to the cg on the public roads.

That rig won't fit in any state park campground in Michigan that I've seen. Most are far too "close and cramped" to maneuver something like that down most of the roads, not to mention backing into a campsite. Good Luck with parking, but it's gotta be a "sweet ride".....

Elephants are fun to watch, even ride (at the circus) but they do make poor "house pets"... There's a significant difference in "big enough" and "elephant in the pantry"....... But, to each his own

I love it. I would wheel that into any campsite I'd get into with a crew cab dually. How about some more pics ?

DMK, all the posters made a good point. Camp a lot in Casino RV lots, lay in bed at night surfing the 'net for a 44' 5th wheel, and know that I would love to have your truck......(painted Ford ruby red)

That's awesome, hell, for the price of a new DRW you got yourself a well more then enough truck there, no worries moving forward. Very nice

Even though we just ordered our first fiver, I've been looking at some of these for the future for when we travel more then just a weekend here and there with the dually as a TV

Let me be the first Weight Police member to jump in and say your trailer is not big enough. LOL! Love the set up.

Haven't been on in a while have to laugh at everyone who wants to put this rig down! Apparently none of you have ever driven an HDT! It is more maneuverable than my RAM DRW pickup was. (bigger wheel cut, wider front end, hitch point farther back) all makes for better maneuvering and I have no problem backing into sites and can fit into any space thats 60' long. I can easily fit just about where any class A can go. The best part is much less $ than a new dually would cost. Will go way more miles than any pickup will. Not to mention the safety factor. My 08 Ram 3500 DRW 4x4 6spd manual was at 100% combined GVWR. With this setup I was able to lighten the trailer (put some stuff into storage on truck) and have lot's of safety margin for less money than a newer dually with larger capacities would be. I have been in many campgrounds with no problem, but we boondock a lot and I have been in some amazing spots with this setup. You do have to be careful where you go that's just common sense, but so far this has worked out well. This HDT club is getting larger all the time you should think about it especially those at or near capacity and I'll bet there is quite a few of you if I was there with a 300 mp!

It has a 10 spd auto shift, so it's way easier to drive than my 6 spd RAM! My wife will be driving ours soon...
