Question Volume on TV not loud enough

The Volume on my TV is not loud enough with the little speakers on the TV. Has anyone used a adapter cord from the TV sound output to the AUX IN on the magnadyne DVD radio player so that normal tv will play through the magnadyne when it is turned on and the tv sound will play through the surround speakers in the 5th wheel? I would think that it would work. The TV is a 42 inch Visio HDTV. There is a set of RCA jacks on the back and a mini jack on the magnadyne that says AUX IN. Anyone do that or is there a better way to get more sound?

If the RCA jacks are OUTPUT and not input they might work. The AUX IN will be stereo and you’d have to figure out how to get the RCA cords adapted to the mini jack. If there is room, a more viable option may be a sound bar.

Yes a Sound Bar would be a very viable option, I was hoping to get by cheaper as a sound bar it pretty expensive especially a amplified one. Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately most of the RCA jacks are inputs on televisions. If your TV has a headphone jack, that should work. Most likely a new receiver that accepts HDMI or optical audio will be needed if you don’t go with a sound bar. The nice part of the sound bar is you can take it to the next rig or use at home also.

Walmart shows one for $60.00
Best Buy shows one for $40.00

They are out there and some are very affordable, some are ridiculous. Just google sound bars

Our TV audio output is "plugged into" the stereo AUX IN and works great. We have 2 RCA jacks on the back of the TV and the same 2 RCA jacks on the back of the stereo. On ours, we had to remove the stereo from the mount (4 screws under the plastic cover). It's now permanently connected and we have the option of using the TV audio and/or the stereo "ceiling speakers".

If your audio equipment has a mini jack labelled "Aux in", have a look at your TV for a headphones jack of a similar size. You should be able to get a male/male cord from most electronics retailers (or probably one from Wally World) to connect from the headphones jack to the aux in to the stereo.

I had the same problem. I couldn't hear the TV with the AC on. FlyingAroundRV is correct. You can run from the headphone jack on the TV to the DVD/entertainment system. Change it to AUX input 2, it will play through the speakers. I got my cable at Best Buy. I think it was about $10.

I had a similar concern. I bought a Y adaptor and a set of stereo RCA cables to go from the TV headphone output to the AM/FM/CD player. It worked in that the signal got there as I expected but it sounded a bit too distorted at higher volumes. I suspected the next problem was the quality of the AM/FM/CD player’s amplifier. I bought a small amp that uses a max of 15 amps as that is what the 12 volt circuit is rated for. I disconnected the AM/FM/CD player, as I don’t use it otherwise, and wired the small amp in it’s place. It made a huge difference. The sound is plenty loud enough and much clearer than ever.

I finally broke down and bought a 3 channel 36 inch Visio Sound Bar as the TV is a visio. Got a slight echo and some distortion at higher volume levels. using optical connection, so I disabled the TV speakers and all is OK now. The Sound Bar was $129 at best buy on sale.

I thought about the sound bar for a long time but I was unable to find something I could mount near the TV. It eventually occurred to me the original speakers seem to be OK but the radio not so much. I paid about $140 for an amplifier.

I bought a Bose TV Speaker from Sams Club for $199 or so. Not cheap - but it is only about 24" long and it sounds incredible. Hooked it up using the optical connection. It is much better than the Samsung sound bar I have at home that cost about the same a couple of years ago.

Amazon

Check on Amazon saw a couple of ones for $40 to $90 some 24 inch. The bose is a good choice but I did not want to spend that much money. I took the 36 inch visio sound bar back to Best buy and went to sams club where I got a 36 inch Visio Sound bar and a wireless sub woofer for the same price $129. Works great and the woofer gives nice base sounds.

Our 2016 cougar my wife changes from tv speakers to either outside or rear or front speakers just by using the remote and accessing setting on the tv.it showed how to do it in the manual that came with RV.

I could find nothing in the manuals supplied with my Cougar. Also my Copugar does not have the original TV. mine is a 40 inch Visio and the inputs to the Magnadyne radio DVD player are RCA on the back of the Magnadyne unit. there are no outputs jacks on the back. There is a plug that contains all of the speaker wires. any switching would have to be done in the Magnadyne and not the TV. The only input jack to the Magnadyne is a mini aux imput jack on the front of the unit. Using a RCA to Mini cable I could turn on the Magnadyne Aux and get sound to the speakers in the cougar that way. What a Pita. I would like to see a copy of your instructions if possible.
