That time of year..
Well boys, another great camping season is in the books. Alas, it's time to put our Passport to bed for the winter.. the chill is already in the air in ND!
I hope everyone had a fun and (mostly) stress free summer.. Post any fun trips you had to the Dakotas/Montana/Minnesota so I can get to planning and daydreaming about next season!

We have fall and Halloween trips left through October. May even use it for deer camp in November. I'll tuck it away when I put up the xmas lights on the house around Thanksgiving. Did that the last 2 seasons (winterized when temps fall below freezing).
I believe a Michigan member on here has a seasonal site near Tawas, Mi and just begins his season when the snow begins to fall.

I poured a 10X40 driveway across my front lawn so I could take it out and camp any month I want to. I want to go every month, but the booming RV industry keeps me working extra so another proud new owner can discover the great lifestyle known as glamping.
Glamping season is Jan 1 through Dec 31.

Supposed to hit 80 here today, and I expect to go out at least two more times before the frost comes in late October. Sorry your season is already over, Bama.

I don't camp much in the summer (one trip to Colorado). The fall and spring have the best temps in my area.

I'm a campground host here in Maine. After labor day weekend it gets really quiet and we have about six weeks in the campground with very few campers. It's our time to enjoy and relax after a busy summer. It looks like after tomorrow the hot summer muggy temperatures will be gone and fall will be here!
Looking forward to a month or so of beautiful cool camping weather before the campground closes down in the middle of October.

One more trip planned - we are excited - it's our first long haul! Hubby doesn't generally like to go more than 2 hours away, but this time we are meeting my Aunt and Uncle halfway between us in Traverse City, MI - about 10 hours for us. Hopefully then maybe one or more impromptu trips before we winterize. It's been a fun camping season for us- hopefully for all of you as well. We got 10 trips in - not too shabby considering my husband works 2 weekends every month.

Stretching out the season
We live in northeast CT and we will be heading up to northern Maine, Bar Harbor/Acadia, the first week of October. We plan on camping into early November here in New England. Not gonna let some chilly weather stop us. The season is already too short.

Well before we went full time, we would go any time of year here in the PNW. Depending on the year and number of cold spells I would blow the lines, once to four times during the winter.
Now that we full time we spend the winter on the Oregon Coast!
This will be the view out our Kitchen window for January and February this coming year.

Living in the Mid-Atlantic region most folks camp thru Halloween. We like to head north and see the fall foliage and chase it south. I'd much rather set by a campfire then set in a camper while it hot outside. Today is the first day this month temps are below 90, heat index below a 100, and it's raining. Looking forward to fall camping.

67F was the high yesterday and 38F was the low. We might get a few more tomatoes off our plants, so far we've got 5 total (tomatoes not plants).....
I'm guessing we'll be either heading south or winterizing by the end of September. My guess is you'll see a sign "Texas or bust" on the back of a Cougar pulling a flatbed with a Slingshot on it headed down I75 sometime during the first week of October.....

We are on Vancouver Island until early Oct. Nice to watch the ocean tides coming in and out. Back to the mountains and winter next month.

We will be camping until end of Oct or beginning of Nov. We love the Fall temps in October and the campground is usually empty. Winterize when we get home.
