On my new 5th wheel trailer I plan on removing the batteries and take them home and place them on battery tenders to maintain them.

I don’t know what you pay for storage, but my place is $140.00 a month for open storage and $380.00 a month for covered storage and $500.00 for a garage all are 40 feet in length.
If I still lived in Denver I'd probably take my batteries out for the winter as well... But down here we're camping year-round; and under normal circumstances we rarely go more than a couple of weeks without using the trailer.. Although we usually avoid most government (state and federal) campgrounds during the summer... I camp to get away from people in general..

As for payment... Our city has decided on very stringent conditions which must be met in order for you to park your trailer or motorhome at your house... So... we park at a city approved storage facility... much cheaper than yours, but not inexpensive.. thankfully our taxes haven't caught up with Denver's yet either.. Although the Chip & Joanna phenomenon has resulted in about a 35% jump over the past 3 or 4 years..

Something else to keep in mind, is the converter/ charger a true converter/ charger or is it a converter/ charger/ maintainer? I bought a 16 Carbon new and I asked the service personnel if it was a straight out charger or if was a charger/ maintainer. They advised that it was a charger/ maintainer and required no attention to the system including the battery. After being misinformed on what my camper has in just over a year I had a battery that was trash and out of warranty, all because I never checked and maintained the water level on the battery and I cooked it by being plugged into shore power more then not. Point is know for sure and even verify what you have or check the battery water level at least once a month!

Many folks leave their units plugged in full time with no issue. I blame my junk WFCO converter for trashing the supplied battery, as well as the dealership’s replacement battery in a year. I upgraded my battery bank and added a Victron BMS, but most importantly an inexpensive battery disconnect.
Now I leave my Bullet plugged in at home with batteries turned off. I check battery charge a day or two before a trip, turn on to charge if needed.
Works for me until I install my new PD converter, no more cooked batteries.

Following the last post, I cannot remember if I read it or was told about leaving the trailer plugged in get the batteries to full charge and turn the power switch off until 2 days before a trip and I leave it on for a few days after. Since 2002 only problem I have had is the trip I forgot to turn it on several days before the trip to a 3 day dry camp trip. I needed to run the genny a lot more that time. Never a cooked battery like in the old days.

Greetings all. Looking at some posts., I guess the best thing to do is to pull the batteries and put them on a battery tender? The rig is stored outside in Michigan while I live in Florida, and I guess I don’t feel too comfortable that the rig would be on shore power while I am away. Best to get a battery tender? Mighty obliged.

Does the converter provide the same float state as the Battery Tender? I've always installed a pig tale on mine and used a Tender. I've seen issue's with converters boiling batteries...….Just my 2 cents..
