BF Goodrich T/A Commercial ?

I'm not going to get the mileage out of my Ram OEM Firestone tires that I first thought. I'm approaching 30,000 miles and if I were about to take a long trip I would buy new tires now. Towing close to home I think I'm OK.
So...I've been internet shopping a bit thinking I should know what I want before I need them. I bumped into these BFG Commercial truck tires at quite a low price. I've never been a BFG lover, or hater, but I never liked the block tread design, especially on the shoulders. This tire tread design looks good to me, especially the center tread.
Has anyone used these, or have an opinion, or see something I don't?

That's a shame about the Firestone tires. Mine went 50k and had 7-8/32nds left but they were a different size.

The price on these tires looks really good - which makes me wonder but the 2 reviews on tirerack looked positive. I've had several sets of BFG tires but normally a more aggressive tread. Some were good, some were not so good but none great. Update: I did see where this tire had a recall on it in Aug. of 2015 so might want to check into that.

Don’t know anything about the tires, but the price is good.

I’m not a fanboy of any particular brand of pickup tire even though the wifey’s wheels always get Michelin tires. Currently, Nitto Terra Grappler’s on the RAM, which I like.

I saw that recall. I need to dig more to see why.
The Tirerack price is good but adding $30 shipping per tire bumps it up against other choices. I want to call some local dealers next week.
My mileage issue is likely in town driving. Lots of corners scrubbing off tread.
I want to look onto Toyota and Nitto.

I've never had Nitto but generally thought of them used with a more aggressive tread. I had Toyo's with a semi aggressive tread and they seemed good for a while but I started having problems with cupping. Thought it was the truck so took it in 2 or 3 times....to the same shop and it was still there. Finally took it to another shop and I think they might have fixed it but traded the truck because I didn't want to buy more tires

I used to always put off road tires on my truck but since I've began to tow quite a bit, and stopped offroading more or less, I just buy a regular, mild treaded, AT tire. The only tires that fit my truck are the Firestone TransForce, which I had very good luck with (OEM-I was shocked) and Michelin Defenders which I recently purchased. My thinking at $130 a tire, barring something in the recall, it's pretty hard to beat the price. I've not looked at pricing on others similar but anymore $160 for a truck tire is phenomenal - to me (I used to think I was getting "top of the line" at $40 a tire!!)

Hey Gearhead, I've been running BFG com TAs on my current F250 and on previous 3/4 Ford. very pleased with them usually about 70,000 mi before replacing. my local DT has always had fair price and excellent service.just back from summer racing trip.14,000mi no tire troubles,thanks BFG and MAXXIS. ---Lou---

Lou....good hearing from you. Our racing ended at the Richmond spring NASCAR race. I had back issues and had surgery August 21. Recovering good though.
I'll get with my DT store and see what my options are with the BFG. If they are near the total price of TireRack, I'll buy from DT.

I currently have the terra grapplers on my ram, love the way they look but with 35k on them now will only get another 5k. Think I will try the Cooper Dicoverer A/T3 next time.

Our 3500 dually came with Nexon 235/80/17s and at 30K, still look good. I did have front aligned and tires rotated about 5K ago. Most all mileage is highway towing; little to no off-road or gravel roads. Will probably replace with Michleins when the time comes; maybe in another 20-30K.

My truck had Continentals as OEM - for about 35K then Firestone Transforce HT for the next 35K - and not really good mileage on either. I've upped to the optional LT275/70R18 size Michelin Defenders and gained about 400#/tire load capacity. They have about 38K on them and still (just measured) are at 10.5/32nds vs 13.5/32nds new. I had Continental (junk OEMs) plus Yokohama's then Kumho's on the last truck and they lasted very well. A tire I wont own on a truck is a Goodyear Wrangler. They heat harden to the point where they spin wildly on a wet road (used on a couple F150s). Sure, they wear well, but, IMHO, at a cost for safety.
