Rear Deck Steps

Where is everyone storing the rear deck steps for their toyhaulers? I currently have mine on the floor in the garage and stack Rubbermaid tubs on them when traveling, but would like a less "roomy" way to store them? maybe some kind of bracket on the bottom of the trailer?

These patio stairs are so awkward we don't even take them with us anymore. On the occasions when we get to put the patio down and the railings out, we just enter/exit through the door in the toy-hauler. I can see where the stairs are great for long term placement and/or those equipped to keep their patios down for the duration of the stay.

On our Impact they didn't even give us the stairs, only for the Fuzion versions. I don't need them anyway. We hardly ever use the patio function. Usually too humid or buggy outside.

I cant say I have ever even camped where they would work. Usually the deck is 4' off the ground. Mine sit under a bunch of dust on the pole barn

I guess I'm lucky I didn't get them. They came out right after I bought my current rig. It'd just be something else I'd have to store someplace. I thought they looked cool right at first, then I got to thinking about it and...not so much.

I use mine about 50% of the time and like having them. I store them along with the handrail along the front wall in the garage area. I have two straps screwed into the wall, I put the handrail against the wall then the stairs on edge and secure both with the straps. In my unit this is where the washer/drier hookups are and it is also under the pantry cabinet that extends into the garage.

I have 2 decks with steps and have thought about getting another under chassis double tube tire carrier and see if I could mount both sets of steps on that with maybe a heavy pc of rubber hanging down in front of them to help keep road debris off of them.

Mine were nice at first, but lasted about 10 seconds. They are cumbersome, awkward, pain in the arse in storing, so 9 out of 10 times we leave them at home. Also, because we have to close up each night, stairs are a pain.

If we had all season door versus cheap pulldown screen I would figure a better way to store them. Maybe something under the camper.

With two stairs and 12ft garage with X3 utv that barely fits the stairs are a bit annoying. Don't use rear patio so have a full patio kit/3 season doors for sale. The X3 clears the stairs sitting on floor in middle so that is where they go with my ladder and some other junk, but still a bit annoying when strapping the X3 down to work around them. Patio models could really use a deep slide out storage compartment for stairs/rails. My patio requires stairs to fully latch the swing out rails shut so am thinking of fabricating something so don't have to have the stairs as would not mind not having them for my side patio even though it is down all time. The stairs in general are not as useful as one might think and just another thing to setup each trip also.

Wink My solution. . .

I use a bungee cord to strap it to The Happy Jack bed lift rails on the curb side of the garage. Put a piece of form between the window frame and the stairs. Also include my suitcase Goprower solar panels there too.

I've ended up screwing some eyelets into the studs along each wall and have a set strapped to the wall on each side with a moving blanket between the steps and the wall. Been out twice with the RV and didn't use steps either time.

Ours are in the house basement. We just go in and out through one of the coach doors.
