Only three slats under mattress supporting you

Went out for the first time this year after purchasing my Carbon349. My son went to sleep on the top bunk of the HappiJac bed system only to find out there are only three slats under the mattress. Needless to say it is hard to sleep when you only have your head stomach and feet supported. Isn't there supposed to be some king of wood between the mattress and slats? I guess I can go get a piece of plywood to put there but I imagine Keystone should have something there already wouldn't you think?

Our Raptor had a Happijac system and it didn't have slats, but an entire piece of molded structure (I don't know how to describe it), very heavy, and it supported the "mattress." No slats involved, just the metal structure. I believe your dealer may have possibly absconded with your mattress platform.....hmmmmm?

Our Impact has the same problem. Happijack top bunk is nothing but 3 metal slats and a mattress. Going to put some plywood up there too - bought it used so no dealer option. Maybe even add one of those eggshell foam layers. My boys aren’t big enough to use the top bunk yet so I’ve been slow rolling it

Talked to the dealer and they are going to get the wood or what ever they put in there. Also had a leaking leveling jack they are going to replace as well.

"they are going to get the wood or what ever they put in there" I would make a phone call to the Happijac people and find out first hand what goes in there to make sure your dealer supplies you with the proper piece of equipment. I'm just sayin'....

You're right, LCI does own HappyJack. But, chances are what happened is more along the lines of another customer was buying a toy hauler, noticed a scratch or chip on the bed base in his trailer and the salesman said, "We can take a good one out of <that trailer>, would that make you happy?", the swap was made, but the dealer never followed up with ordering a replacement for the trailer you bought......

Long story/sort: Hey, my bed has 3 slats that support the mattress, is that the way it's supposed to be ????

Dealer response: OOPS, we'll order you a new bed base, somebody must have mess up at the factory and it's missing.....

May not have happened this way, but.......
