Furnace (battery vs generator)

Hi,

When running the furnace on battery the heat comes on just fine. When I connect the generator it appears that the air conditioning comes on?? The air unit starts blowing, etc. This is a 2016 Keystone Passport.

The thermostat is set to furnace, not air or cool... any ideas why this happens?

Thanks in advance for any input!!
