Rig cleaning

GOOD MORNING FROM SUNNY ARIZONA!

Today i'm wondering what everyone uses as a detergent to clean the outside of their rig. The pros seem to use Simple Green. Our 5th wheel was treated with a protectorate at the dealership so I'm also wondering what effects Green might have of that. I did reach out to Green, but they have been less than attentive in responding to my query
I've also heard my go to detergent Dawn might dissolve that coating.
Everyone's insights will be much appreciated.

You'll find people use anything from "spit and a Kleenex" to products recommended by the manufacturer. That said:

Simple Green is a "citric based cleaner" that contains Sodium Citrate.
https://simplegreen.com/downloads/SD...oseCleaner.pdf

Citric based cleaners are not recommended by Alpha Systems and DICOR. They are the manufacturers of the majority of TPO roofs on our trailers.

If you wax your trailer, Dawn (blue) and hot water followed by rewaxing is a common means to wash the trailer AND the roof.

Others (me included) use Meguiars yellow automotive wash with wax. I follow with a coating of Aerospace 303 about a week following washing. That week gives the wax time to "outgas the distillates" so the Aerospace 303 will bond better. It's a matter of using a petroleum based (water insoluble) product and a water soluble product on the same surface.

I've been using Mcqiures yellow wash mixed 50/50 with Turtle Wax Wash & Wax car wash soap, doesn't dissolve your wax job & dries relatively spot free.
I have never heard/read that Simple Green was not recommended for the roof membrane as I've used it on my last 3 5ers with no apparent adverse effects, right or wrong?. When wintering in Florida our roof would turn black,in about a week & the SG was the only thing that would clean it up. Also use the SG to clean the awnings, spray them down, roll them up for a few minute, then brush with medium bristle brush & rinse.

I use Dawn dish soap because it gets the tree sap off the roof quickly.

Blue dawn X2 soap for the roof, followed by Turtle Wax wash and wax for the Aluminum siding. Use Spray on protect all for the wax.. All this does a great job on my Trailer...that's what i 's do....
