How to Cap A bottle of T-9 bike lube

Well, This is a bit embarrassing. I have a bottle of T-9 bicycle lube with, I think, the new top, the pointy one. My problem is I can’t get the cap back on it. (I hear you — stop laughing!). seriously, the cap has threads and the ‘dispenser’ has threads. However, I can’t get them to hook up. I’ve tried screwing this on in both directions, I have squeezed it to get it started, I’ve tried to push it on and so on. Would one of you kind souls please tell me how to cap this bugger?

Turn it backwards until you hear, or feel, it click. Then the correct direction from there.
How much did this stuff cost?
Throw it away and get something else.

No luck with that. When I turn it backwards, I don’t hear nor do I feel anything.I’ve tried it softly, I pushed a little harder, and I pushed hard as I turned it and I can’t hear or feel anything.

I assume the OP is referring to Boeshield T9. It's good stuff and not cheap. I can't answer the question because I buy the spray version.

Get a twist on electrical connector (the right size is probably the red ones) and use that to cap the bottle. Total cost about 5 cents.... Savings, more than a case of beer, an evening of frustration and the price of buying a new bottle of T-9 lube when you get angry and toss that one out the window.....

JRTJH, That was the solution. I screwed on a red wire nut and it worked just fine. Thanks a bunch.
