Anderson Ultimate Hitch Problems ????
Hi all. I recently bought a Fusion 369 @ 15,000 lbs. and had to have it delivered for the simple reason that I haven't chosen a hitch. Pulling with a 99 F250 Super Duty with the 7.3 Turbo Diesel. I'm leaning toward the goose neck along with the Anderson, however all of the dealers poopoo the whole combination stating they've seen them have problems without showing me any evidence. I'm just wondering if others have had the same and appreciate some feedback. Thank you, Smiles, TahoeTumbleweed

Good choice of trailer i jave the sameone.
I run the anderson hitch with a b&w turnover ball.
I have not had one problem with that set what so ever.
I have seen a few thing about it but i feel alot of it is improper setup and trailer brakes not adjusted right.
Im sure someone will tell me im wrong but thats just my own opinion.
I also pull my with a 2013 F350 6.7 diesel.

I've had mine for 4-5 years now without a single issue. Much smaller and lighter 5er than yours, but no issues for me.

Welcome to the forum! I told myself I wouldn't comment, but, the specs for the 369 says it has a gvw of 17,000 lbs. Pulled with a 20 yr. old 3/4 ton...? Not knocking anything or raining on your parade but have you by ANY chance thought about or looked at your weight ratings? I would suspect you surpassed the trucks capabilities at 12,000 lbs.? Again, just trying to give you a heads up for what I figure is a problem.

No Problem Sourdough. I appreciate all comments. I'll never have the 17,000 lbs in it. A couple dirt bikes and wet weight if dry camping which would be very rare if ever. I have airbags on the truck and if needed I'll put overload springs. The only difference between the F250 and F350 is the suspension. The engine seems strong but I thought a compression check would be a good call !! Rain on a parade beats tearing things up, hands down so, thank you

If/when you ever get pulled over and weighed ( yes it does happen), the only numbers that will determine if you get to continue or unhook will be the RAWR and the GVWR if the trailer.
Air bags do zero for weight rating, and once again NO the F250 and F350 are not the same thing with derated suspension. Believe what you want, I’m not here for any argument or “discussion” but I have been watched people argue and lose.
Welcome to the forum, and a Reese “goose box” is a better choice than the Anderson IMO.

Congrats IDPolaris. Great choice........I love this RV like no other. Very much appreciate the comment. Sounds like from a few comments that I might need to look in to over sized brake set up??

I had a 2003 f350 7.3 built i alway put wagner rotors and wagner sd brakes on the truck.
The important part is to have the trailer brakes adjusted correct for your load and driving.
No need to oversize the brakes.

If you have any structural cracking with you trailer keystone will denie warranty work because of the Anderson hitch but Anderson states right on the hitch it will not void any warrant on you rv. I like my ball hitch because it's light weight and easy to remove from the truck .

Keystone won’t deny, Lippert will since they manufacture the frame.
We just had a discussion about the Anderson “insurance” policy and it was pointed out that Anderson would have to conduct an internal investigation to determine cause before any payment. Goose box is approved by Lippert.

I have e mail from LCI saying any use of adaptors or extension to be used on our king pin or our pin boxes. The use may cause damage LCI would not be liable for repairs . I would like to see Anderson challenge that .

Yeah, I know they say that, and they're in control regarding warranty issues, but for me, making my decision to go with Andersen, I reasoned that the ball adapter block, once bolted to the kingpin, puts the ball in nearly identical vertical height plane to the kingpin (plus whatever height difference the ball has over the kingpin).
Therefore, again, in my unprofessional opinion, the Andersen causes no more lateral force on the pinbox than a standard 5th wheel hitch. So, I chose Andersen.

Ditto on the Andersen Hitch. I love it and the smooth, quiet way it pulls. I've never used a Goosebox but hear good things. It would probably make a good choice as well if you already have the turnover ball. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

I had a 2001 Ram 2500 CTD towing/carrying a 12,500# 5er with 2,700# of pin. You are asking a 20 year old TV, with 20 year old frame technology to handle a 14,000# to 15,000#+ 5er with a heavy pin.

Thanks but I have been labelled as such and have no issue wearing the badge. Yes I will speak up when I see a potential hazard, as we ALL have to share the road. towing it is but one factor, STOPPING it is another.

I have found the dealers don't really know what the Anderson hitch is most of the time. I have been running a 3220 for years and my nephew too. He tows a 40 367fls like a dream with it. Mine is a bit smaller. No complaints at all.

I've been using my Anderson since 2015, never an issue. And if the camper manufacture or lippert void your warranty Anderson has a Million dollar policy to fix your camper if it's found their hitch caused the issue.

Hi all. I really can't express my appreciation for all your comments/feedback. Although I'm certainly going to be within the club of "been there, done that".
