Smile Hi! From Southeast Indiana

Wanted to send out a "HELLO" shout from Southeast Indiana. Husband and I are sorta-kinda newbies to RV'ing. After years of tent & pup camping, we decided to move to a TT...a 2012 Springdale, that came to reside at our home in March 2012.

We are having a blast visiting local Indiana State Parks, and are looking forward to camping every weekend in October (especially the Bluegrass Festival at Versailles State Park in Versailles, IN & Spooktacular at Whitewater Memorial State Park in Liberty, IN).

Our goal, well MY goal, for 2013 camping season, is to visit as many Indiana State Parks as vacation time permits, and camp at 2-hr. or less drive time on weekends.

I figured, it was time to join the forum instead of lurking...looking forward to geting to meet everyone!

to the forum from one Hoosier to another and congrats on the new trailer. We too love camping at the state parks and one of our favorites is Turkey Run in Marshall, Indiana. We also have a couple close to home that we like staying at as well.

for the warm welcomes! I really love, love, love to read all the forums and have gained quite a bit of knowledge that I share with my DH (and in true fashion, I politely remind him if he is doing something wrong from what I've learned during my days of lurking.)

Turkey Run is on the 2013 schedule to visit. Also going to Spring Mill State Park and Shawnee State Park in Ohio in 2013. Can't wait for 2013 camping season to get here!

We are also looking toward the next year camping season. We didn't get to do as much as we would of like to this year. We did a 2 week trip out west and that pretty much ate up all of our vacation time for the year. We haven't been to either one of those parks as of yet. We have stayed at a lot of the state parks north of Indy and now looking to start exploring some of the more southern state parks.

Another great southern Indiana park is Harmonie on the banks of the Wabash river. Beutiful, spacious campground and lots of great trails, including mtn. bikes. Also Lincoln State park is nice with the lake and being close to Holiday World and Splashing Safari.

We have a 5 year plan to camp in every Indiana state park that allows camping. You will LOVE Spring Mill! Sometime if you need camping buddies, let me know. My wife and I are late 40/early 50 and we have a 12 year old son.
