Replacement gears for Lippert 191072 Venture Motor

I have a 2005 Cougar 245 and I need to replace the nylon gear in my Lippert slide out motor. After a brief search on the net, I've found replacement gear sets ranging from $95 to $175. Do I need to just suck it up and pay the $95 for another set of plastic gears or are there any options?

Back when I had my Jayco, I had plastic gears on my bedroom slide fail. I ended up paying like $300.00 for a whole new assembly with metal gearbox. It was back in like 2007, so I don’t remember where I found it.

Steve, Note the original poster had only one post (the one you see) and hasn't been back on this site since October 2018. Trekwood.com is a place to start; call them because they often have stuff that isn't online on their site. They are also know for pricey shipping. They have a bunch of gizmos for slides called actuators and mechanisms with no pictures. Perhaps Lippert customer support could help you with the name of the part you need... Trekwood slide motor assembly:

This is their slide parts page for a 2005 Cougar:

Lots of slide out motors on eBay:

There are gears for a Lippert slide out motor but didn't see plastic (plastic seems like a poor idea):
