Another thing with RVs and sqft is there is a max it can and still be considered an RV. I think it's somewhere around 350-400 sqft. After that it's considered a park model could mean some different rules and criteria for building and design.

I was actually researching park models (i.e. tiny houses) and thinking about putting one in an RV park/campground where we seem to go about 90% of the time. There's a max sqft for those as well so when the manufacturers add a second story/loft they call it "storage space." But it has carpet and heat, and is all finished off.

The RV business actually fascinates me. I was recently looking at some tiny houses and manufactured homes at a dealer/factory on a Sunday (factory closed). I think my enthusiasm showed and the salesman offered to take me through the factory. It was super fun to walk through and see a bunch of park models and manufactured homes in various stages of building.

Here you go:

A class A motor home is still an RV, and a 40' is 320 square feet without slides extended.

I always thought our 3535RE stood for "REALLY ELEGANT"!

Silly me, it means "Rear Entertainment" No idea about the 3535 part... oh well, we love her anyway, and she is elegant.

Our 3535RE, has "Rear Entertainment".... but is a 4 slide with 39ft, go figure? The 3536RE is the identical unit with a residential 110v 'fridge'. (Both discontinued, even though it was a great layout... OH WELL!)

Maybe you have the LHS(F) "Let's have some fun edition!!! LOL

Whatever it is, I'm sure someone will have the right answer, in the meantime... enjoy the trip! What does Keystone say?

Good Luck,

21FQWE - 21' long box (26'2" ball-to-bumper). The "WE" is apparently a Western Edition, made in Oregon. The FQ - you'd think that would mean Full Queen. Au contraire! It has a short RV queen. None of the East Coast models have the same layout and none of the East Coast models have the full rear dinette (the single-axle 177LHS is avail with the full dinette).

I notice that a lot of the trailers in our length have much less counter space in the kitchen, maybe they think "Q" stands for culinary. "Full Quarters" because the bed is in a separate room, without an outside door?

Someone once asked the famous Carol Shelby what the 350 signified in his creation, the Mustang GT 350. He said that his team was in his office contemplating a name when he asked one of his team how far was it from his office to the shop. One guy said around 350 feet and the name was decided.[/QUOTE]

Another interesting Carroll Shelby tidbit. As we know he was a big part of the famous GT40 Lemans cars from the 60s.
The 40 in the name comes from the height of the car in inches from the ground. I know this for a fact as I met him on several occasions and asked that specific question.
As Paul Harvey used to say "now you know the rest of the story".

The best answer, so far, is that the letters are someone's initials. Our Laredo is an SRL for Sam, Roberto and Larry?
I have no idea what the 298 stands for - well, according to recent posts, it could be the CCC?

Our Sprinter is 3531FWDEN. which is likely interpreted as 353 interior sq. ft., option 1 (residential refrigerator), Fifth Wheel DEN floorplan. Makes as much sense as the floor plan that Frank, William, Doug, Earl and Neal created. Unless it was Francine, Wynona, Willie, Edith and Nora.

Ours is a 343RL

No clue what 343 means as it is 38 feet long. My guess is that is a number sequence, short to long as the 305 is ~35 feet while the 381 is ~42 feet long. The RL on ours is Rear Living room

My 202 QBWE is 20', if you count only the actual structure, not the tongue or rear bumper. I have always thought of the letters as Queen Bed Western Edition. It would have made more sense to call it 202RDWE (Rear Dining) because they almost all seem to have a queen bed. What I don't know is the reason for 202.

Letters and numbers on RV's are a lot like drug name brands. Somebody sits around a Scrabble bag of numbers and letters and just randomly pulls them out 1 at a time.
