A/C Question

I have a Dometic 15k unit and it appears the controller of the unit partially obstructs my return air vent. Is it supposed to be here?

Anything that obstructs airflow, enough to cause the system to NOT flow at the rated CFM is bad. Does yours.........I can't honestly answer that question!

I was just wondering. I am always trying to optimize the mechanicals on my 29RLI and I have determined that this is normal. Actually it helps to hold the a/c filter in place also. Has anyone tried to relocate it?

It may be designed that way but if you are looking for a way to increase efficiency I have a suggestion ..... I took my cover off for a deep cleaning and noticed the janky separation between intake and exhaust. I grabbed a roll of aluminum HVAC tape and spent a little time taping all the joints. This included taping the foam separator to the top of the unit. This few minutes and three feet of tape made an unbelievable difference in the amount of air and the ambient temperature. I would highly recommend it.
