Expandable hose

Does anyone use an expandable garden hose? This would replace my general/black water flush hose, not my fresh water hose. It seems like it could help increase some storage.

We do. One hose has lasted us 2 years so far without a problem. Since those type seem to spring leaks if kept under pressure for long periods of time, using it for black tank flush is perfect use for us. And we do like that it doesn't take up much room when not in use.

Mine burst under water pressure as it sat with water on (charged as fireman say) and nozzle off for only a couple of mins at the first time used. Neighbor left his outside for several months without pressure and when he went to use it it burst.

We use one for black tank flush as well, no issues to date and definitely saves space.

Any recommendations on brand? I see a ton on Amazon, but not sure if the reviews are legit. A lot of them mention getting a discount to review the item.

Ours was a cheap brand called "flex-able" hose from Walmart. It doesn't have great reviews but we've had no issues with it for the past 2 years.

I've thought about it for the black tank flush but haven't figured out which one to buy yet.

I had the expanding one and they burst. I use a coiled one now. The nice thing is it stays off the ground while flushing.

I use a coiled 50' hose with dedicated pressure regulator and 90* elbow for our black tank flush. Stores small but always has enough reach.

After reading this, I've been very skeptical of these expanding hoses. Well, someone gave me a new one in the box. I figured you can't beat that price! I've used it for a cleanout hose 4 times now and really like it. I'll use it til it blows and likely buy another. It takes up so little room. I'm impressed so far...

We never use the outside shower, not on the last camper either. I just use the outside shower hose to connect to the black tank flush and use hot water.

I always thought that having an outside shower would be great. Now that I have one, I haven't used it once, and it is just one more inconvenient step when winterizing the trailer.

Maybe if the DD (dear dog) had an encounter with a skunk...hydrogen peroxide and a quick shower outside would be advantageous to bringing Charlie inside.

I take the shower head off of mine and use it to clean my hands (grilling, etc.). I have also used it to wash dishes.

Update...still using it. Love it. If it blows, I'll definitely buy another.

I purchased an expandable hose at Big Lots a year ago. It was cheap and lasted about a year. Yesterday I pitched it after flushing my black tank. It started to leak near the connection point. It didn't burst during my use. I might try one with brass fittings, as this one was plastic.
