Angry Leaking LR SLide Hyd ram leaking at seal

My 2017 Alpine has developed a major leaking in the LR slide Hyd ram. Will leak large puddle of oil every time I use the slide room. Went to dealer and they are telling me that is is going to take 3 to 4 weeks for Lippert to supply them with new ram. Is this normal or is the BS?
Very disappointed with the Keystone customer service so far. Not responsive to the consumers needs.

Just to be fair, I'm not sure where Keystone is responsible for this. The dealer is fixing the problem, Lippert is supplying the part, and Keystone is doing.....what?

I agree 3-4 weeks is excessive and it will not take that long to ship the part, but dealers are backlogged and work them in as they come in. I'm thinking in Florida, the backlog is huge.

If you have plans to camp, you could go ahead and go, and bring the trailer in at the end of season or when the part arrives and they are ready to work on your unit. That at least cuts down on downtime. Good luck with your repairs, I know this is frustrating.

You didn't say if this was the pump or maybe a hose or fitting that was leaking. By any chance is it something that you could fix and eliminate the downtime?

I am a tech at an RV dealership and I can assure you that time frame is about right.

There is a "process" that has to be followed in order to get paid. Keystone isn't any different from other manufacturers.

If the ram is leaking, then an O ring has failed. Being a 2017 model year, it is a warranty item.

I'd have to insist on a new hydraulic cylinder since it's brand new

I had the same problem - I contacted Keystone directly and got the info for the dealer. It took 4 weeks to get the part - one morning to install the new hydraulic cylinder.
