New to the Keystone world!

Hello peoples!

We have been RV'ing for over 10 years now with our future hopefully being brightened with the upcoming purchase of a 2013 Cougar High Country 315 RES Fifthwheel. It will be our 4th 5'er, the last one having a few issues, I will not go through all of those issues now, as I want to put the past in the past, but maybe I will open up about those issues. Suffice it to say we learned a lot with that one for sure.......

We live in the Southern Alberta, and we love to camp in this area I like to call "God's Country". Also we love to camp in Montana which I hear it calling for me to go back there......

I spent 25 years in the Military, 7 years in the Army, and the final 18 in the Air Force.

I look forward to conversing with you all, and I hope you all enjoy conversing with me.

Hope your new Keystone treats you well. We visited Montana in 2011 and loved it, especially Glacier National Park, amazing scenery.

Rusty,

from down south of you as well. We, like you, are long time RV'ers and have had some rather perplexing things happen along the way. Fortunately for us, the good far outweighs the bad and we still smile every time we think about heading out on another adventure.

Pull up a chair and tell us some of your "exploits" with RVing. Add in some helpful hints you've found make your trips easier and more enjoyable as well.

Again, welcome and we're glad to have you as part of the forum family.

John

Thanks for the JR.

So does the suspension collapsing just outside Rapid City sound interesting?

LOL

Quicky update.

We have made our maiden voyage with the 5er and I simply love it!

A few issues, very minor though.

We found out exactly how "stout" the hardware on the "Pocket door" between the Master bedroom and bathroom really was, the lock on one of the hangar wheels snapped and that allowed the hangar to detach itself from the door. SO I said the heck with it as the hardware that was used is mighty spindly and went to Home Depot and purchased a pocket door kit and replaced the track and hangars with that. The hardware is rated for a 150 lb door much much more then the flimsy door that the trailer comes with. Now all I need to do is install a bumper system to hold the door from slamming into the wall, that and figure out a guide system as the one that they use is truly a joke! And it only holds the door in place when it is lashed at the full open position.

We have a few issues with 2 blinds, but they have been ironed out.

I am going to be installing some racks in the basement to better sort out "stuff" there as there is a whole lot more storage room in this new unit compared to our Thor Jazz.

Also I have to properly install a second battery, probably build a rack system for that as well so that I can stack them on top of each other and allow for me to build a pad for my Craftsman tool box and "stuff"

All in all we are really liking this our 4th 5er. I honestly love to pull it, now if I can fix the truck to trailer braking system and have it work as advertised things will be hunkee dorey!!!!!!
