Does your wife share the driving?

I had my wife drive a bit when we had a little B M/H & she was a nervous wreck & so was I. With the 5th wheel I don't think it would be a good idea at all. Some of the roads we've been on drop of just past the white line even make me nervous.

My DW pretty well does all the driving. I just sit in the driver's seat and work the controls.

Truth right there!

My mother (who is in her late 60s) attended a Forest River rally this summer and took an RV driving class. She now feels comfortable driving and even backing up.

Last time she drove I was sedated from the Dr. office and that really didn't go well. And we were in the car. The 5'er I don't think so.....Just considering everyone elses safety on the road...

She won’t drive the big truck by itself so adding a fifth wheel to it is a definite no.

Same here, she won't even move the truck in the driveway!

My DW drives our F150 King Ranch. She drove pulling our utility trailer once. But other than driving me crazy, she has driven with me in the vehicle maybe a 1/2 dozen times while I was sedated over the 38 yrs. we've been married. Prior to marriage I rode with here several times when I taught her how to drive a manual. No reflections on her skils but my type A personality.

Ditto!!! I keep promising to fix the brake pedal on that side but never seem to get around to it. She drove once while I took a nap .... I woke in one hour and we had gone 85 miles .... NEVER again.

I'm the wife and hubby has yet to pull our trailer. He wanted me to be comfortable pulling it as he's military and we didn't want the trailer sitting at home while he's deployed. 3 years later and I'm still the driver.

My wife does not like to shop or drive much. Driving around town is OK or possibly a short trip but it just doesn't interest her. She's driven me after surgeries as some have mentioned but other than that she doesn't. A trailer? Probably won't happen. She tried once with my 24' deck boat at a very busy boat ramp. Ohhh, what a sight; I didn't know there were that many angles a trailer could go and never get into the water. Between her frustration and embarrassment and my "jovial" personality, she's never wanted to be connected to a trailer again.

We also are a family that shares the driving, although Brenda will only drive from rest area on to another chosen rest area when triple-towing. This is the 21st century. Equality comes in all shapes and sizes.

I have to say I’m also the wife of our rig, and hubby hasn’t driven the truck towing the fifth wheel yet - and we’ve had it since 2014. I do all the driving when we are towing, and most even when we’re not towing. We go out to Montana/ Wyoming fairly regularly and have also taken it to New York State. I love to drive and hubby has Parkinson’s, so it’s harder on him.

Sadly, I feel like many times, it’s how we’ve been brought up as to how we feel about how capable we are to drive towing anything. I grew up the daughter of a diesel mechanic and my dad made sure I knew how to take care of my vehicle and how to tow properly. Of course, living on a farm probably helped. Our daughter is being brought up to know how to everything I do.

The DW does just fine behind the wheel while we are on the Interstate or back country roads, but she does not like driving in the city with the truck - TT attached or not. Come to think of it, neither do I!

The F150 belongs to the DW and it is her daily driver.

She has not driven it when we are towing, but I figure she could handle it, if she wanted to.

No, she has never towed, in fact only drove the pickup once on a long trip, but was not comfortable with it, especially at the Dutch Bros. coffee drive-up. She’s too used to her little Escape, the truck is a lot bigger and over 200 more horsepower.

Mine too. She will move the truck around the yard but she doesn't want anything to do with driving it on the road. She used to drive my 97 F350 crew cab dually when she had to but this one's a 4x4 and sits a little higher. Kind of funny because we had two Suburban's in years past and she liked them, even the 4x4 one.

My wife drives just fine from the passenger seat. I won’t let her drive my truck let alone pull the camper. She sleeps I drive. Lol

Mine actually came up with the idea of me letting her try in a BIG EMPTY parking lot. Just need to do it now.

When we had our Colorado and the 177LHS Bev drove it some on the interstate. We have since upgraded and have a Silverado 2500HD 4X4 that she has driven around town. She has not tried pulling our larger trailer. We need to get her started on learning to pull it.
