New Passport 175BH owner

Hello All,

I am the new owner of a 21' Passport 175BH, and love love love the setup!
It tows great behind my 2001 Ram 2500 diesel pickup.

For a smallish travel trailer, it seems to have some really nice sized holding tanks, dual LP, full/separate mini fridge and freezer.

As a pilot with an engineering degree, I like info... lots of info! ...So I have already added an LP tank level indicator and an upgraded battery health/usage monitor. I also picked up a couple of Ryobi Bluetooth generators for some dry camping.

So far I've been camping locally here on Long Island, and upstate New York. It's been tons of fun learning and improving on each trip!

Ive got plenty of questions for all of you, so I'll see you all in the various forums!

Safe travels,
Frank

Congrats on the new camper. If you ever make it WAY upstate near the Canadian border we have some really nice DEC operated FREE dry camping areas in the State Forests. My thumbnail was taken at one of them.

Thank you! I'll keep that in mind- I'd love to get up there... I just got back from Watkins Glen, NY... IMHO, one of the best-kept secrets of NY!

(sorry I don't know how to rotate photo)

Here are a couple of links to the State Forest camping area where I have spent most of the last three summers, including this one: https://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/7999.html and http://andyarthur.org/brasher-falls-state-forest.html

The second one is a little out of date in that the water source has been permanently capped and some of the sites no longer have usable outhouses and/or firepits or picnic tables, but it is never full so you should be able to find a site that meets your needs.

I haven't visited the Moose River Plains area mentioned in the second link, but have heard great things about it from other campers here.

Another area worth checking out on the DEC web site or Andy Arthur is Mountain Pond near Paul Smith's in the Lake Placid/Saranac Lake.
