Local 150

I had to leave town last week, and when I got home checked on camper,, the breaker had tripped and the refrigerator went off and what a mess. Also no 12 volt lights. Long story short the converter/charger failed. Put new converter in and reset breaker,, but why did frig go off ? It was on 110, question is could the converter going bad have caused the frig to go off ?

Welcome to the forum !!

Which breaker? Your fridge needs a decent battery for the control board to operate. 110 and LP are the heating sources for the cooling unit but the board needs like 11.5V minimum to make that choice.
That’s the quick explanation.

The breaker for the frig. The battery was completely dead as the converter wasn't working,, it didn't flip to lp as igniter is probably 12v. Would that have caused 110 breaker to flip ?

That wouldn't have caused it but was the result of the converter going out.

The refrigerator needs 12V to operate, whether you are on 120VAC or LP.....for the control board in it. If there is no 12VDC, then it's not going to work.

If the fridge 110 (heating element) and the converter are on the same circuit breaker then the converter failing is probably what caused the circuit breaker to trip.
