Changing out the steps
Has anyone changed out their steps for one of the aftermarket brands? I'm liking the Torklift Glowsteps.

We changed ours to the glow step this past spring. Easily done and much, much sturdier. One of the best mods we have done!

We did the same - very sturdy, adjustable, and the size and slope help with bad knees. Well worth the cost.

I don't know if other Keystone 5r's are the same, but my concern is the bar at the bottom of the step storage area. I'm going to need a 4 step and I'm worried it'll fit. Below is a pic of what I'm talking about.

On sale as we speak: 4 step replacement steps from PPL in Houston. A VERY good parts source. http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/r...ding-steps.htm
And, yes, we did buy this very set and replaced them ourselves. An exact fit for the Raptor.

The bar at the bottom is part of the step framework. It will come out with the steps when you remove the assembly. We use a floor jack to replace steps, makes it a breeze.

Chuckster57- Didn't know if it would be in the way for the Glowsteps. After looking at the link NoTanLines posted, I'm rethinking the whole thing.
We don't have a problem with the current steps bouncing because of the support bar. It's just that high first step that's a pain.

Whitewolf, are you talking about the first step out of trailer or first from the ground? I have a 305RL and the first step out of trailer was way off. I raised the whole assy into the next holes . It's a pain getting it done, you have to cut out metal in the sliding slot. Makes getting into trailer a lot safer.

I was talking about the first step off the ground. I'm not crazy about the first step out of the trailer either, but the one off the ground can be a little on the high side depending on the site we're in, as you know.
I cary a step stool for those times, but in my opinion, I shouldn't have to do that.
