Fresh water tank question

I have a new 2670bh, and was wondering what the standard operating procedure is, if you don't use your camper for a couple months, should you sanitize your fresh tank again.
I did this spring when it was new and used it for several trips, but it'll be about 2 months when I get to use it again, I did not leave any water in the tank but I'm sure there is some that didn't get completely out.

Well it depends. Do you drink the water from the tank?
If not, and we don't, I usually sanitize in the spring and again in the fall. The tank is drained in the summer and whenever I think it will be not used for 4-6 weeks. Our temps and yours are just too high in summer to trust that things aren't growing in the tank.

I would say your good. Some people sanitize more than others, I will admit that in the 5 years I have owned mine I haven't sanitized once.

With that said, it would depend on water quality, and since the left coast has more regulations than brains, I don't think I have much to worry about when it comes to water quality. 2 months shouldn't be too long I think, but I've been wrong before.

I think it depends more on the water quality than whether the tank was empty or might have had a "little bit left in it".... If your water is untreated well water of questionable content (organic matter, nitrates, etc) I'd probably flush it well (at a minimum) or re-sanitize if you're unsure. It probably is an extra, unnecessary step, but if you've ever gotten sick from "bad water" you'll "forever be cautious".....

If, on the other hand, you're using well chlorinated water from a known good source, you'll probably be OK just running a little through the plumbing to flush out the stale water, filling the tank and heading out.

I am on a well so,.. no chlorine and my tank will grow like a science experiment during the heat of the summer.

That being said, ... I add a small amount of bleach at every fill-up.

Thanks for the advice. All of that really makes sense, and I do have really good well water, so no chlorine. So I'll probably resanitize my tank and flush it.
