Filling in gaps

Pulling panels and such for other projects I noticed that whenever something needs to come into the trailer from the outside they used larger than needed hole saws. So usually there is a large gap between the plywood and the exterior skin.

Would it be worth the effort to get expanding foam to fill in those gaps? I’m talking water heater, power, water, rca jack and an electrical box. Being behind panels and dead space I doubt I’m going to gain any insulating value. Maybe I’m just being ocd about it?

I filled all of the holes I could find with expanding foam. Some of the larger ones I used wire mesh to cover it and then some foam. If you have a well sealed underbelly the critters can't get in but if they do those holes are a pathway into the trailer interior.

It’s on our project list. Wife wants everything foamed. It’s going to be a challenge in ours and perhaps yours as well. Some of the plumbing cut outs are 16-18 inches square (semi square) my main one for wiring is just to big into underbelly. I can’t figure out what to do with it.

And then the slides, can fill those gaps with foam. Uggg
