The exclusions is where an insurance policy can/will get you if you don't read them. It may reference a specific exclusion, negligence etc. What I worried about was the civil side which could make an insurance payment look miniscule. If you are cited for anything, and weight could be one of them, or not, a good lawyer for the plaintiff against you will turn over every leaf including weights (or estimations of them) to influence a jury. If you are obviously overweight, or look it, visually, you can bet they are going to try to reconstruct the situation to the benefit of their client and to your detriment. If you have stated your knowledge of a shortcoming, or have been told of it, somewhere on the www they will more than likely find it....then hold on.

Had a friend involved in an accident. He was not at fault in any way and the jury awarded him 8M initially. In the following proceedings the defense lawyer kept badgering him about the circumstances and if he could have been at fault in ANY possible way; being a straight up guy and not understanding the consequences of his response he said he didn't think so but maybe. Result? Award for damages went from 8M to 2M - lots of money for a regular guy to just cough up if you were on the losing side - I prefer not to run that gamble since that kind of judgement can end a person's life as they know it.

Wife was in the insurance for many years.
They will pay the claim!

But will very likely cancel your policy after that claim.

They can't just deny your claim.
But they can cancel your policy or refuse your next renewal.
