Exclamation Water Pressure Regulators

I recently installed a regulator on my city water connection going to my rv. Is it possible to damage the system inside the house??

No. It's just the same as turning the faucet on and off. You do that every day.

Do you not always use a regulator for your rv? Not the silly little restrictor, but an adjustable regulator. If not, you should!
I have mine set at 55 psi & add it to the faucet EVERY time I hook up the hose. If it's less than 55 psi, no harm, if it's more I'm covered. We been to places with 30 psi which really sucks & to places with 100+ psi & in that case I wouldn't trust that "restrictor" to protect my plumbing, hence the "regulator".
Two things that get hooked up every time we stop, #1 the surge protector/ems & #2 water pressure regulator.

I've been using the "Cheepy" for 40+ years. Never blew out a hose yet, even in parks that would blast your decals off on full pressure!

The regulator/restrictor only keeps your hose/plumbing from blowout disasters! We've been in parks that will actually "LEND you a reducer (imagine that???). I personally can't tell 40 psi from 50 psi or more, but my "Cheepy" can, and my shower has been excellent! BUT... my plumbing can....!

It will in no way affect your spigot "upstream" pressure, any more than shutting off your garden hose would affect household psi, it only reduces," down stream" pressure, so always put it at the spigot prior to any other connections, to protect your filter, hose, and camper plumbing fro m excess pressure.

Good Luck.

The problem with the "regulator/restrictor" comes when you get to a place with marginal water pressure. If it's 30psi you will get 20psi or less thru the restrictor. I've been to places it literally cut what would have been a usable pressure to worthless; and removed it. I now have an adjustable regulator and no longer have those issues. But, like you I used one for many years and just dealt with it until I got tired of checking the water pressure with a gauge everywhere I went - just because of that restrictor.
