I have a 2017 KEYSTONE RV COUGAR X-LITE 26RBI. Anyone know where the thermostat is located for the hot water tank?

There is not a thermostat in the sense you can turn it up or down. If you open up the cover where the WH is you'll see a black rubber cover with what looks like two buttons. Those are reset buttons for the high and low limit switches. When the water temp drops below the low limit it turns on. When it gets the temp to the high limit it turns off.

Thank you.

Do the reset buttons change the temp of the water. If not what are the buttons used for? This is a new trailer and I have not camped in it yet, so wanting to prepare.

They dont change anything. Sometimes the heater will go out and the first step would be to reset it by pushing the button. This will be covered in the paperwork for the trailer.

I've never had to use my reset buttons, so my thoughts would that using them or needing to use them is rare.

I wouldn't worry about the HWH thermostat. Knowing where they are is a good thing but I've never actually had to mess with them. They aren't adjustable as far as I know (Atwood). I just finished trouble shooting mine a few months ago (bad control board) and want to say they are under a little cover at the front of the HWH. Your paperwork with the trailer should tell you that or.....the internet should tell you all you want to know.

Replaced mine on my old trailer after 10+ yrs of heavy use. Yours should be good, haven’t seen a failure in the shop in 6+ yrs.
