Fresh water fill ?

Can you just turn the lever while connected to city water or should you turn off city water and release the pressure before turning. Haha, newbie questions....2017 Carbon 347

I have flipped the lever, no harm...YET. Maybe turn off the hose and relieve the pressure just to make sure.

We have used the city fill feature for well over five years without a problem, and never turn off city water first. We use it to top off the fresh tank after traveling a lot, using water on potty stops and occasionally when too lazy to connect water on a overnight stop. The only time we use our gravity fill, which is not on a lot of the newer rigs, is when we are boondocking, which is usually only once a year.
