Thumbs down Lube plate

Just got our new 2012 Montana high country ... Do I need to use a lube plate?

Lube Plate

I would unless you like to keep putting grease on the plate everytime you hitch up, plus the massive cleanup from grease dropping all over your truck bed. In other words coming from a 30+ year trucker and a fifth wheel owner, I'd spend the few dollars and get one. They are easy to install and are worth every penny

Need to No, you can grease the hitch and plate every time you go out, maybe refresh on a long trip. Cuss evey time you get grease on your cloths.

I myself made that the 1st purchase at the dealers parts room before hooking up the first time. I just keep a small amount of grease on the jaws where the pin rides.

Yep

Yes you do unless you enjoy being a grease monkey...it's like owning a refer vs an ice bucket! No decision here.

Thumbs up

I definitely recommend it. Works great and saves the mess of using grease. Agree completely.
