Good stuff or snake oil

Obviously, I am a newby. I have owned a Jayco TT for a while and am now getting ready to take ownership of a Couger 324RLB. The finance guy tried to sell me three small bottles of fiberglass maintainer for $495, $695 with fabric protection.

The link above is the brochure for the product. I can't find any other info on the product or supplier. I didn't bite on the offer and think I am ~$500 better off for it. Anybody ever heard of/ used this stuff?

Wow... We got ours at Holiday World down your way and they shot straight, gave us a great deal and only suggested mud dobber screens and vent covers!

Snake oil

Sounds like a good deal --- for, say $15/bottle. Maybe.

Yep - same place, liked and got the vent covers and bug screens but the miracle juice was too much in more ways than one.

Darn! I purchased the extended warranty! No wonder they did not try to sell me anything else.

"Enviro-Shield" is a spray-on coating sold by just about every car dealer and now a lot of RV dealers. It is a coating that protects the paint. Easy to apply and easy to make a lot of money off of! Detailers like it on wheels and glass but not so much on paint. Seems a good waxing will do just as good if not better.

It's crazy but there are three Enviro Shield products on the market from three different companies. I have no idea which of the three your dealer was selling but to give you an idea of how much markup there is, detailers can buy a 236ml bottle of one of the three for $30.

Thanks for all the replies. Picked up the '5er' today and so far so good. They did try to sell the ext warranty but I am pretty handy and I turned it down. Transfer a few items from the TT to the 5, purchase a few doorstops and it's time to go camping!

I also vote snakeoil!!! Its akin to the leather sofa dealers trying to sell a cleaner and conditioner kit for an outrageous price. When we refused, all the slimy looking salesmen just couldn't believe it and said we would regret not buying their 300 dollar treatments.
