Shore power not working

Hey guys . I brought my fuzion 390 home to get it ready for the camping season . When I plug it into my house it trips the house out let . I'm thinking it is a problem with my RV transfer switch .
Anyone else have this problem !

Is the trailer plug a 50amp or 30amp? Is it plugged into an adaptor for a regular outlet? What might be turned on in the trailer causing a draw? What is the rating on the breaker that trips?

Lots of variables here, and without knowing more it's darn near impossible to diagnose by a computer screen. Help us help you by giving us some more information please.

Is it an instant off or once you use something. As said, be sure everything is off before plugging in. Have you plugged in hear in the past or is this the first time.

Yup . I been plugging into that spot at my house for 2 years . It is a 50 amp reduced down to 110. I had even bought a new small 50am to 110 plug in . Once it gets plugged into the trailer it pops the reset on the house plug in .

You really need a dedicated breaker from your house to avoid these problems.
Also what gage is the cord and how long is it?

Have you left something like the electric water heater on? That could be enough to trip it.

Is the outlet you are plugging into a GFI outlet?

If you have been plugging into that same outlet for a couple years without any problems the question is what has changed? If nothing has changed with the RV, and you're using the same cord that is heavy enough, maybe it's just a simple fact that the outlet that is tripping is worn out/weakened, it happens. If you can't find anything else that seems to be the cause I'd try a new outlet. It sounds like it is a GFI since you said it is tripping the reset on the plug in. That also makes me think about the GFI rating. Probably a 15 or 20 amp. Doesn't matter if your breaker is 50 amp if you have a 20 amp GFI.

Turn off all circuit breakers in the trailer including the main ... plug in as usual ... turn on the main and then one by one the others until the GFIC trips ... that should be your problem area. If your battery is very low your converter/charger may be drawing more amps than that outlet can supply. Just a few things that come to mind, Hank

As long as it works. I had the same problem. Turned out the Electric Hot Water Heater was the cause for me. I have to keep that off when plugged into my garage at home.

Sorry, but "50amp reduced down to 110 (volts)" isn't practical.

Do you mean a 4-wire 50amp plug on the RV reduced down to...
3-wire 30-amp outlet at the house? OR
3-wire "regular" household outlet which could be either 15 or 20 amp?

My guess would be that you've either got too many devices in the trailer "on" so that the moment you plug in you're tripping the (likely) 15 amp breaker. Or what happens to me frequently, your standard outlet is part of a GFI protected circuit and that is tripping and needs to be reset. Moisture is the most frequent cause of GFI tripping.
