The landing gear should have its own in line fuse. You may want to check that.

It sounds as though the battery is dead. The slide out, awning, and landing gear run off of the battery. When you are hooked to the truck, the trucks charging system begins to charge the battery. There are several things that run off of the battery including the slide out, awning and the landing gear. If there is not enough power built up in the battery some of these things will not work. The clicking sound is something trying to turn on but there is not enough power.

Sounds like one or more of the wires your DH replaced are incorrectly identified. That isn't really unusual as there is no standard for color coding on the connector wiring. Usually there are two 10ga wires.. one is the common ground and the other is the battery. On trailers the white 10ga wire is normally the common ground and the black 10ga wire is the battery power.

The 12ga wire is almost always the trailer brake.

Then there are various colors of 14ga wire. I have attached a photo of a PDF which may help. Understand that this is for trailer plugs from one manufacturer and is not necessarily applicable to other brands.

Sorry then, no clue about how European trailers are wired. But it might be an interesting project to research.
