He or Helium Technology

Montana and Couger High Country fith wheel have He technology.

They say that the trailer is up tp 2000# lighter but don't explain where the weight savings are coming from.

Does anyone know anything about this technology. All that I have found is to do with the building of skateboards.

I found one in Boise and one thing is apparrant. They changed the entire mechanizism on slide outs. They are using cables now. I don't feel good about that. Also, the siding is different which must be lighter.

The cable slide system is made by Bal industries, been around for over twenty five years. Huge weight savings there. Also the axles on a 291RLS are Dexter D-44 (4400# rating ea.) with 10X2 1/4" brake assemblies and slightly smaller holding tanks. All the appliances inside are the same. No day-night shades, only night with no wood valance boxes. Outside skin is a bit different. Happy with the unit I have.

I think another area that might be less robust would be the insulation in the walls and ceiling. I don't know this for sure but the Montana brochures are quick to point out the R values for the roof, walls and floor. The High Country brochures only mention the R value of the floor, which is probably a common component for both models.
