TPMS reads high

Hi Guys,

I have the tireminder TPMS on my tow vehicle and trailer. The problem is that the TPMS reads some of the psi 5 - 7 pounds higher than when I read it with my trusty tire guage. Some are spot on, some are not.. Should I be concerned about the high readings? Thanks in advance for your help.

If it was me I'd try a few other "trusty" guages first.

I have two "trusty" gauges that read five pounds apart. One is a Longacre the other I got from Napa. The sensors are dead on with the automatic shut off settings on my compressor though.

Not sure if one can believe the literature, but the material that I received in our TPMS package stated that the sensors are much more accurate and reliable than tire gauges - especially the spring loaded ones.

Mine read about 4-5 psi below what the tires are inflated to. I used
digital and dial gauges. Also I get false pressure loss alarms on occasion. Mine is also a Tire Minder system. Not real pleased with it so far.

in all my years working on cars i have yet to see any two tire gauges match! the tst manual says their sensor are plus or minus a couple of pounds of each other. with that said. I set my pressures with my tire gauge.then make a mental note of what the monitor reads and be on my way! what i really am looking for is a decrease in pressure of increase in temp!if the readings are a few pounds off it really doesn't matter it's the big changes we want to see
