Looking at purchasing a High Country Cougar

Hi everyone. Myself and my husband are in the process of purchasing a new 2011 high country cougar 299RKS.
Does anyone know of any issues regarding this unit?
How do you negotiate for an rv?

Before you sign your name on the dotted line and write any cheques, I would get a PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) checklist and make sure that everything on that list passes YOUR inspection. These checklists are available online but I would suggest going to Flyguy's website, follow the links, and download it. Flyguy is one of moderators and member.
Negotiating for an RV is not that much different than for a vehicle. The same strategies apply --- do your homework - you can check prices for this unit online. I am not sure what the markup on that unit would be but it would follow the usual % in the RV industry. Good luck with your purchase.

If you want something special have that included in the final price also. For an example; when I bought my 2010 318SAB Cougar, the dealer provided my wife and I the final price. I stated that we needed to talk over the price and could we get back to them later in that same day. We came back and told them that the unit and price were right for us but I really like the slide toppers on our current unit. I then asked if they would provide the three slide toppers at no cost to us and if they did we then would have a deal. The dealer agreed and we were both happy with the transaction.

Purchasing a 2011 Cougar

Thanks Jim W. That is good to know, cause we are wanting two slide toppers with our unit.
I'm wondering if we could get a generator with it.
I will have to check this out too.

Thanks again.....
