New to Us, 2010 Raptor 21FB
Hey guys we finally made a decision. We picked up a 2010 Raptor 21FB Saturday. The unit still appears brand new!
This unit was a trade in at a dealer in Knoxville TN. We had a very good experience with this dealer, Buddy Gregg RV & Motor Homes. They have a full service facility and also offer on-site camping for those picking up new RV's or obtaining service. It was nice to be able to camp in the trailer overnight to ensure we did not miss anything during the walk through(we did follow the checklist that is available for download on this forum). This also allowed us to fully fill/dump/flush tanks without rushing. Since this was a used trailer we flushed the black tank several times, allowing it to fully fill and then dump.
We had an equalizer hitch installed and towed the trailer 200 miles to the house. The trailer towed very well with little to no sway. The truck did downshift and hit 3K RPM's going uphill in the mountains. The transmission and engine temps didn't budge. We averaged about 8 MPG.
Very happy with this trailer. Everything worked well. Seems well built. Now we need to start working on the load plan for the motorcycle and camping gear.
Thanks again for the knowledge/opinions of the folks on this site.
Curtis

Just spent the day re-wiring the stereo/TV/DVD. It was really dorked up. Now I have the sound from the tv going through the stereo speakers.
I will look at changing how the speakers are wired tomorrow. The DVD audio center channel (dialog) is spread across the front L&R channels. Unfortunately the front L&R channels are wired to the outside speakers, . The rear L&R channels are wired to the speakers inside the trailer. Just need to swap them I think.
I also sealed up the supply and return on the AC unit. too many gaps & holes on both sides. Seems to cool better now.
Having fun

Thanks Y'all!
I did get the stereo rewired. Swapped the outside speakers to the rear channels and the inside speakers to the front channels. Now I have the dialog from movies inside the trailer.
I was trying to setup the new equalizer hitch yesterday and the tongue jack quit working. It is an LCI 3K. I have a Husky 4.5K on order. I like the bearing design used on this jack. Similar to the high end Barker, hopefully it will provide long service.
Next week I am going to start baselining all the maintenance, i.e, sanitizing the FW tank, Gen service, Hot water Htr flush, trailer brakes etc. This way I can start my service intervals, since I did not get any service records.
A lot of moving parts on these rigs, but the info on this site is extremely helpful.
(Picture included, so it did happen!)

Nice looking rig, Curtis. I was checking the specs on your trailer and the tongue is quite heavy (as are most toyhauler trailers). It looks like loading your Gold Wing for every trip is going to pretty much be a necessity... Not that it's a bad thing <wink>
Enjoy your "new found freedom"

Depends. I may have to alternate between kegs of beer for tailgating and the Golding for the camping trips! Man what a problem to have, right"

Curtis,
I have just gotten a 2014 Keystone Outback 310TB, AND , I see mention that you haul your Goldwing in your Raptor.
I understand that my 2006 Wing will squeeze in this crossways, front hold, bunk room that is in my Outback, if I cock the wheel over toward the corner.
I have been brainstorming ideas about a safe/sensible ramp extension to give a longer incline, so I don't high center at the top, and embasshingly take a "BAD" tumble.
I had thought about lowering the ramp door to some jack stands, some distance off the ground, then using an attached, wide, folding ramp to extend the slope. ???
What has been your solution?

Another option would be to lower your tongue jack as low as it will go, put a 2x12 under the ramp edge and voilà, your ramp angle is flatter. No ramp extension to deal with that way. And it is stable.

Modersical, I'm afraid Curtis hasn't been on here in more than a year, and this thread is four years old. You might be better off starting a new thread to gain a little more attention to your dilemma.
