Beds in garage, how much weight?

So I've only had my kids sleep on the two queen beds in the garage. no issues.

Talking to another camper here where we are staying that has a new XLR toy hauler that he uses for him and some other contractors to stay in while there working in the area, he said one of the guys is about 400lbs and the weight broke his bottom dinning table style bed.

Anyone else have any issues?

My worry is my in-laws are going to be camping with us for a couple weeks and the two of them combined is over 400lbs, they'll be on the bottom bunk.

I 'd hate for them to get hurt if it fails or to have to ask them to sleep in separate bunks.

Just curious if anyone that uses there rear beds for heavier people have ever had an issue with the bed bowing and bending? I'll be using all four of the supports like intended.

400 would be pushing it I think. I've had 250 on there and it was fine

x2

I would only try the lower for both if it was at least temporarily braced from underneath.(maybe some milk crates?)

Wow, they put two "Queen" beds in the rear and they can't even support the weight of two full size adults?

Why queen size then?

We've had 400# on the bunk bed with no problem, although we did add a 4x8 sheet of 1/4" plywood to firm up the mattress.

Think Happijac lifting mechanism rated at 450 lbs moving and 600 lbs static. Those numbers are for their mechanism and not limits on anything mounted on them such as bed frames or sofas. I assume if you were using two levels of the lift the two levels together including the weight of the sofa or bed would hold no more than say the max of 600 lbs static. If I recall there were previous posts where members were reinforcing the bed frames due to weak components

Have you ever looked closely at your bed frame? Not much there. I've got it on my to-do list to install additional bracing.

I have, we would only put them on the bottom bed that also transforms into the dinette chairs. It seems more sturdy than the top.

Last night we set it up and also put the OEM king size mattress on that we removed from the master bedroom when we put a sleep number in there.

It seemed to help even out the weight of me and my wife and son, should work fine for the two week stay while the in-laws are here. And the mattress fits fine against the ramp when we have the table set back up.

I'm sure it's not going to be an issue but thought I would ask if anyone here had ever had an issue. Hearing the guy here at the campground complain about it was the first time it ever crossed my mind.
