Smile House Plants

We are looking for ideas on how to keep our house plants watered and fed while we are gone for an extended period of time; more than two weeks but less than four months. Our neighbors have been great but I don't want to wear out the welcome mat.

Last year I cleared the neighbors driveway of snow a few times and he took care of our plants and mail for the month that we were gone. This year he is going to do the same but we did not have any snow. Sometimes you are the windshield and sometimes you're the bug. ..... Only kidding. ... I'm sure I can find something neighborly to do in return. ..... I'm sure you can also. JM2¢, Hank

Our neighbor does ours, and will not take money for it. It is easy to pay them back, just find what they want. Our neighbor has horses, so a gift card from the local feed store works great.

We use the water globes like the link that CincyGus posted or we use self watering pots. The globes usally last a couple of weeks and we can sometimes get a month out of the self waterting pots.
