Cougar xlite 2nd air conditioner

I want to add a second air unit to the bedroom. The camper is a 2017 29RES XLite. Can anyone recommend which unit to get. I would prefer a low profile.
I'm not sure if the Dometic Penguin ii will fit the slope of the roof. The penguin is about 40" long. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FYI. I have one of the Dometic 15,000 btu units that has the bad, or faulty, manufactured evaporators. According to Dometic, the last three digits of the serial number between 301- 507 are affected. The Delta temp on my unit is 10*.

Regards

Is your bedroom vent prewired for a second AC? That's the biggest hurdle. If it is then you can find the specs on the unit your looking at and then just use a tape measure to check for any obstructions. I've seen some AC units on a steep tilt with no issues.

The bedroom is pre-wired for a second unit. I am more concerned about the quick slope near the front and how long the penguin ii is. Will it seal right?

Serial number is under the foam divider , inside the air intake

We have 28SGS. Wanted the second A/C and the Penguin II also. On our rig a tank vent was too close and had to choose a different model. No sealing problems.

Did you select a low profile unit, or a regular size. If regular, how does it look? Picture would be great

Thanks

Several ways.

First, without even walking out to the RV, do you have 50 amp service? If you don't, then it's 99.4% (just like Ivory Snow) sure that it isn't "prewired'. If you have 30 amp service, you can stop here. If you have 50 amp service, then:

Next. Go to the front bedroom of your 27RKS and see if you spot an electrical box cover on the ceiling near the rooftop vent. If you do, it likely is the 20 amp circuit for the air conditioner.

Next, go to the power center under the stove, open the door and look to see if you have one or two circuit breakers marked "A/C". If only one, AND you have the electrical box cover in the ceiling of the bedroom, then you'll need to pull the power center to determine if there is a ROMEX cable behind the power center. If so, then using a multimeter you can determine if that connects to the ROMEX in the box on the ceiling.

If, however, you have 30 amp shore power, then in almost all probability, no, you do not have prewiring/bracing for a second air conditioner.

The brisk ii and other models say 15 degree slope but the penguin ii - it says only 8 degrees tilt. Our 2 A/C’s make 97 in sun down to 75 inside.

I have a 2014 27RKS. It has 30 amp service. Being that I'd have to rewire to get electricity to the bedroom vent is a consideration. More important, the XLite is a 'light weight trailer" with as much weight as possible removed. That means the roofing is "reduced in weight, structural integrity and strength"...

I wouldn't consider it on my trailer and would probably buy a different trailer with 50 amp service and the bracing/wiring in place rather than attempt to modify mine.

This is NOT to say that it's impossible, rather that it's not worth the hassle knowing how light the framework is in my model.
