Dometic AC full of hot air

Hi All-
Went out to start loading the trailer and I turned on the AC. Outside: 90 degrees, inside 100+. I am plugged into my dedicated 30A service at the house.

I put it on auto mode and the fan was blowing strong. The compressor briefly kicked on and was working, then the whole unit stopped after just a few minutes. I turned it all off then set the fan to "Hi" and turned the cool back on. The compressor kicked on then I left it to run then came back out after 10 minutes and it was blowing cold. Came back out 20 minutes later and the compressor was off and blowing warm. Restarted it again and the compressor briefly kicked on then turned off after maybe 10 seconds and wouldn't come back on. Subsequent tests yielded the same result. Searching indicates it is likely the motor control board or thermostat? Correct? And how do I narrow it down to one?

Update: I went out to record the Model/Serial # and jiggled all the wires visible from inside. I started it back up and the compressor kicked on and started blowing cold for maybe 2 minutes, then it kicked off.

Update 2: Went out, pulled outside cover off- no bugs or nests, condenser coil clean. Came back in started it up, compressor kicked on and has been working for at least 5 minutes, blowing cold. Thermostat?

Update 3: Came in, sat down for a few, went back out and still working 45 minutes later when I turned it off for the night to head to bed.

Update: went out today and started it up, compressor kicked on and ran for about 2-3 minutes blowing cold before it kicked off. Thermostat? Control Board?

I suspect if he doesn't have an idea why it is kicking off intermittently, then he won't have any idea of what jumpering the thermostat means. I sure don't. How do you do this? I am interested!

I am not sure you can "jumper" the Dometic thermostats, I believe they use a serial communication link to the control box that is inside the AC unit, which I believe could be the problem here.

It is possible there is just a loose connection.

Here is a link to the lcd Dometic thermostat, there is a diagram on the last page showing how things are connected in the control/relay box.

On the the white connector, that goes up into the AC unit, the blue wire is compressor power, the K1 relay controls power going through that wire.

Depending on you electrical skill and comfort level, I will let you decide what to try next.

It is possible that connector needs to be re-seated, try that first. might as well make sure all the connectors are seated well while you are at it.

Well, I picked up a new relay unit and thermostat today at the local RV dealer. Not only did they call Dometic directly through their contractor to verify they were selling me the correct unit, they were cheaper than anywhere online. Got done replacing it and it fired right up and has been on for over an hour right now. It did not turn on immediately on "Auto", but has been working on "Hi". I may have to still check all the other connections, but as long as I can get it to run through the weekend it won't ruin the weekend and I can futz with the fine tuning when we return. Just need to keep us cool while camping this weekend.
