Smile New from Oregon

My husband and I are recent retirees and have just purchased our first "very own" RV, a 2014 Cougar 5th-wheel, 279RKSWE, as well as a 2013 F350 Diesel 4x4 to pull it We love it and are excited about doing some serious RV'n.

Congrats on the new camper! We are leaving in the morning for our 2nd trip with our new 5er. First trip was last weekend and we had a blast. Get out and enjoy yours now that the season is upon us.

My wife and I did something similar last year, we purchased a new 2012 24RKSWE, 27' Travel Trailer from Curtis Trailer and a new 2012 Tundra as a tow vehicle. If we had decided to go with a 5th wheel the model you chose was the one we wanted. We had been looking for about 6 years and studying all types of RV's but when we both finally were retired we decided as you did to go new so that as we hit the road our problems would be learning about camping with less chance of equipment problems.

I think you made a very good choice, the truck you chose should pull that trailer with ease and the room inside that model 5th wheel is outstanding while staying small enough to get you in just about any park you wish. So far we have had an absolute ball with our trailer, the quality and features have been outstanding and each trip we anticipate with excitement.

During the years we looked at RV's and visited RV shows we talked to owners of your model and were given glowing reports of how much they liked their RV! Best of luck and my only advise is study the manual that Keystone includes and take it slow. Lots to learn and many good people at the campgrounds will lend a helping hand and advise.

Hello fellow Oregonian!
Have a wonderful time with your new toys! As our summer weather looks like it's coming now (at least for a while... could snow for the 4th of July.....) hope you have a great time camping.

The first year we started camping (with a PUP) we stayed closer to home (Silver Falls state park is 30 minutes from our house) and have progressively moved further and further from home. There are so many great campgrounds in Oregon alone, it might take us years just to get beyond the state!!

Happy Camping!
Hope to see you on the road sometime!!
