LED Light Problem

Our brand new 2017 Cougar is having a weird light problem.
when we are using shore power the two double light fixtures over the LR slide will begin to flicker. At first slowly then within a couple of minutes very fast. When this happens it affects the other lights in the trailer.
Disconnect the shore power and the problem goes away. BTW it's not the shore power source. I've duplicated this at three different locations.
Further, turn off the lights in the slide and the other lights return to normal.
Even further, just turn off one side of the fixture and the remaining light goes off and on.
I checked the temp of the lenses over the LED's and all the fixtures are about the same temp. I thought LED's were supposed to be cool but these feel fairly warm.
So that's my problem. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

It sounds like the voltage regulator circuit on the LED assemblies are malfunctioning. I believe the light fixtures used by Keystone have a "limited lifetime" warranty. You might want to buy a replacement, and if it works, then send the worst one back, get it replaced, then continue until you get all the flickering fixtures replaced. Then, you'll also have a spare.

Thanks John,
I'll pass this along to the CW folks as a possible solution. Unit is only 1 month old so I'm thinking they need to just figure out if one or two assemblies is causing the problem or simply to wholesale out the entire bunch.

Replace the leds that flicker initially and see if that doesn't cure the problem. Make sure you use the 12-28v vs 12v only.

You may also want to check the water level in your battery. Although the trailer is just one month old to you, there is no telling how old it really is or how long it's been on the lot, plugged in/displayed etc. Theoretically that should have been covered in the PDI but from what I can tell that is probably a hit or miss thing.

Thank you
Just topped off the batteries. 16oz in one and 12oz in the other. Both were installed the day prior to us picking up the trailer. The unit had just been delivered to the dealer (CW). Not even washed from the delivery trip, everything still wrapped in plastic. Pretty sure DW was the first to sit on the sofa.
Will let the batteries charge on the convertor for a few hours and see if this helps.

16oz of water is quite a bit. Maybe it will help with your problem. I know my LEDs started flickering and dying (12v not 12-28) and it turned out to be low water which was making my batteries weak. I ended up putting in new batteries and all has been well. Hopefully this will resolve the issue.

Believe it or Not
When we picked up the trailer after the warranty visit, (yes flickering lights was one of the issues) we saw them haul it out to the parking lot, signed the work order and started backing the truck under the 5er. Went to raise the landing gear and guess what?? The batteries were dead. Now this unit is only one month new. And two of those weeks were spent at the dealers waiting for warranty parts.
If it came out of my shop with dead batteries I'd have been completely embarrassed. CW's response… "Oh this happens all the time"

If they let the batteries die completely you may have an issue; now and going forward. You may want to mention that to the dealer and see if they will give you new batteries. If they put them in the day before you bought the trailer and they were dead when you picked them up from a warranty visit...and it's only a month old. I would seriously question the batteries they installed or what? they did there when it was in for warranty.

We plan to have that discussion with the GM at CW. Headed out now for a good long road trip (note attached photo). We'll see what other surprises are in store for us as we travel.
Overall We're mostly pleased with the fit and finish of the unit. Of course the usual mass production "fast" work at the sacrifice of workman like attention to detail shows in places.
Planning to run the lights this evening now that the batts have had a chance to charge. Will update later whether the weak batteries were the culprit.
Thanks again for your input!

Well my friend, another "swing and a miss". I have not checked the batteries with my DVM yet. Will do that tomorrow while loading up. Looks like it'll be me the DW, disco lights and Sassy the dancing dog at the coast for the 4th.
Thanks again for your help and suggestions!

Thank you for the compliment. Looks like someone likes Arches NP.
One of my favorite places. That little walk down Wall street to the Courthouse really give the feeling of just how insignificant we really are.
