Crazy Contest Qualification

In this month's Trailer Life there is a an electric bike "giveaway". Reading the contest rules, one of the statement is as follows:

"If the winner is a resident of Canada, he/she will need to answer a mathematical skill testing question by phone and without aid to be eligible to receive the prize."

Can someone in Canada explain what this is all about?

Metric vs SAE conversions. All Canadians must be able to convert the SAE nomenclature on the Electric Bike to metric in order to safely operate it as a motorized vehicle
Of course that's only a guess on my part
Next thing you know we'll have to check their spelling!

When we sit around at happy hour and I listen to my Canadian friends throw around diesel price per liter and immediately convert it to price per gallon I'm pretty sure math isn't one of their problems. Darnedest question/statement I've ever heard....a math test?

I guess the upside is we in Canada do not pay any taxes on lottery wins. And no skill testing questions.
Mind you they are sometimes only $50 million.

I personally would rather have to answer s silly ( they are very easy ) skill testing question than to give half of my $10,000,000 to the Government.

Having said that we in Canada have some very old archaic laws.

He is one for you. In BC a pub licence can be taken away if you have over a certain amount of TV's.

Oh, 1 more that is funny .

British Columbia
1. In BC it’s illegal to kill a Sasquatch.
